Hello everyone,

there has been one simple rule that gets ignored so often we’d like to put a little reminder and explanation to it:

4. Multiple photo submission should not belong to the same set from a photo shoot that has another photo that was approved previously (I.E Same shoot but different angles, poses etc.).

For example, we often get multiple submissions from the same set up just taken from a slightly different angle. The reason why we don’t want too many similar pictures is simply that we want to have a variety of different photos in the group and don’t want the members’ inboxes flooded with too many similar pictures while there is so many submissions every week anyway.

Though we’d like to encourage people to submit their best picture into the group and link to the whole set of photos in the artist comments. Or put multiple pictures into a collage and submit it as one submission.

I hope you all can understand the reasoning behind it, if there is any questions please let us know! ^^

Furthermore we made some small changes to the rules in the hope to make them simpler (there are no new rules or major changes!)

SUBMISSION RULES
Please read carefully

Rules

1. The photo(s) must contain Ball-Jointed-Dolls: Dolls with ball and socket joints, with customizable and interchangeable eyes and wigs, made of resin.  We DO NOT ACCEPT the following: Hujoos, Pullips, Blythes or hybrids that have their parts.

EXCEPTIONS WHICH WE'LL ACCEPT IN THE GROUP: Obitsu, Super Dollfie, Self-made dolls (which can be made of clay etc. but must have other BJD features such as above, and they belong into the Self-made BJD folder)

2. The photo(s) must be of a certain quality standard – not too grainy, blurry, dark, bright, overly contrasted etc.

3. The photo(s) should not contain distracting backgrounds such as humans (for example Doll meet snapshots), messy rooms, random clutter, or anything not in context with the photo(s).

4. Multiple photo submission should not belong to the same set from a photo shoot that has another photo that was approved previously (I.E Same shoot but different poses etc.)

5. The photo(s) should be submitted to the appropriate folder: MSD: 40-45cm. SD & Hound: 60-80cm, Yo-SD & Tinies: 30cm and below. Etc.

6. The photo(s) should have a mature tag if needed and not violate any other terms & conditions of DeviantArt.

7. If the photo(s) are suspected to have violated copyrights, they will be declined and the user will be banned if it happens again after a warning.

8. The photo(s) should not contain any sale ads. This group does not support sales, if you have something to sell please visit marketplaces such like on DOA or other platforms as Ebay.

9. No photo(s) of floating heads or other random floating doll parts, even if it’s for showing off the face up / blushing (and especially when it contains commission ads, see rule 8). This group is focussing on photography, there are others groups and platforms to show face ups etc.

Fanarts:
Fanart of any kind is allowed as long as it is based on yours or other peoples' doll characters. They may not necessarily be drawn as dolls (with joints etc) but do refrain from submitting such art works to only a few a month.

There are plenty of art groups on deviantART for posting those, and we would prefer to keep our main focus on photography.

Photo-manipulations:
The following below doesn't count as photo-manipulations and they belong into the photo folders:

  • any photo editing that enhances the photo (changing colors etc.)
  • added a frame or small border etc.
  • added a word, small text, etc.

Photo-manipulations that belong into the Fanart folder:

  • any manipulation that changes a big part of the picture, for example: changing / adding backgrounds.
  • re-paints (painted over an actual photo are only allowed if you yourself are the owner of the photo or have written permission of the owner of the photo, everything else counts as copyright infringement and will be denied and reported.).

Our Quality Standards includes:
Effort, creativity, originality, composition, etc.

The moderators are free to judge the photo submissions within this quality standards and decline a submission without giving a reason. However, if you would like to know why a certain submission got declined, you are free to ask the group, as long as you keep it polite. Rude comments will not be entertained. Spamming/Dev-noting of staff members individually will be ignored and severely dealt with.

We would like to emphasize that the quality standards has got nothing to do with any form of elitism. An art website such as DeviantArt is all about showing and improving your art, and improving isn’t possible without any form of critique.

May I ask whether the Jun Planning Ai dolls are allowed?
Also (just curious here, not trying to nag or argue the rules) why aren't Hujoo allowed? They're ball-jointed dolls that are strung.
